Enjoy your journey!

This Week’s Challenge: Enjoy your journey!

This past week, my husband and I did some hiking at Devil’s Lake in Wisconsin. At one point, it was straight up hill. I truly thought I was going to die, and I knew there was no AED to save me. But just when I thought I couldn’t go any longer, there would be a brief clearing where we could overlook the lake and take a break. It was truly breathtaking and well worth the hike. It hit me that this has been my life (and everyone else’s, I’m sure). Some days, months, even years, we feel like we are just climbing straight uphill, and we don’t know if we are going to make it. When we take time to slow down, take a break, and enjoy the view, we realize that this “journey,” even though very difficult, can also be very breathtaking and worth the struggles. Some tips for a successful hike/life: don’t try to do it alone, know when you need to take a break, encourage others who are struggling with you, and make sure you take time to enjoy the journey. When you do, you will see that it has been so worth the pain and tears.
