Be a cup filler, not a cup drainer

This Week’s Challenge: Be a cup filler, not a cup drainer

We can either be someone who depletes others’ energy or someone who restores it. Some ideas on how to fill someone else’s cup this week:

  • Make eye contact, ask how someone is doing,  and genuinely listen and care about their response. Ask follow-up questions.
  • Be a cheerleader and be happy for others’ victories.
  • Do small acts of kindness that aren’t expected, such as sending a supportive text or bringing them their favorite drink. Don’t expect anything in return.
  • Compliment others, especially their character traits, rather than just their achievements.
  • Tell your child how proud you are that they are yours.
  • Make sure to listen more than speak.
  • See a need and fill it.
  • Smile! It is the cheapest and most meaningful gift you can give.
