This Week’s Challenge: Find Your People!
I used to tell my kids that they don’t need to be friends with everyone—they just need to treat everyone with kindness. They’re not obligated to stay close to people who make them feel bad about themselves. When they came home from spending time with certain peers and seemed angry, annoyed, upset, or depressed, we’d talk about how the people we surround ourselves with matter. We as adults need to do the same thing! Life is too short to spend it with people who bring you down!
“Stop spending time with people who don’t make you feel good.
Stop giving second chances to people who never gave you a first try.
Stop spending your days recovering from conversations that left you feeling small.
Stop convincing yourself that they’re not that bad when you always leave feeling worse.
Find your people” —Jay Shetty
