Drop the Rope!

This Week’s Challenge: Drop the Rope!

So often when someone starts to argue with us, we feel that we have to defend ourselves and assert our point. Just like in the game tug-of-war we automatically begin to tug back. We need to remember that it takes two and we don’t have to “play”. We have choices and one choice is to simply drop the rope. There can be no tug-of-war when one person is standing there holding the rope alone and there can be no arguing when we don’t engage.

“Knowing when to walk away, is wisdom. Being able to is courage. Walking away with grace, and your head held high is dignity”—Ritu Ghatourey
