Alyson LoVerde, LCSW, CCTP, CDVP
Alyson LoVerde is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Trauma
Professional, and Certified Domestic Violence Professional. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University and has several years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy and supportive services to adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. Her professional background includes outpatient psychotherapy, community-based mental health services, crisis intervention, case management, psychoeducation, and extensive work with individuals impacted by domestic violence and relationship abuse.
Alyson works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship issues, family conflict, divorce, co-parenting challenges, work-related stress, grief, and major life transitions. She specializes in helping individuals affected by unhealthy relationship patterns, domestic violence, emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, relationship trauma, and sexual assault. Her work in the domestic violence field has given her a strong understanding of the complex emotional effects of abuse, including loss of confidence, difficulty trusting oneself and others, boundary concerns, and the process of rebuilding a sense of self, safety, and empowerment.
Alyson approaches therapy from a client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspective. She believes that each person brings a unique history, set of strengths, and goals to therapy and therefore tailors treatment to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. She integrates evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies, psychodynamic concepts, art and music therapy, and other therapeutic techniques based upon each client’s needs. Alyson believes therapy does not have to feel overly clinical or impersonal and wants clients to feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely themselves. She brings warmth, authenticity, and a sense of humor to her work and believes there can be room for laughter even while working through difficult experiences. She strives to create a warm, compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment in which clients feel safe to openly explore their concerns, thoughts, feelings, and experiences. She values genuine human connection within the therapeutic relationship and helps clients gain insight, recognize their strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, build confidence, improve relationships, and create meaningful change in their lives.
